Tranquility of Jomalig Island, Quezon

Jomalig Island is an indeed paradise in Quezon! Yes, indeed!
I saw many of my facebook friends eagerly wants to visit and enjoy the tranquility of the island.
So when I saw one of my friends posting about Jomalig, the day after she posted it, I immediately travel to Jomalig with my two budots buddy!

Let me share to you our supposed to be 4D3N expenses but due to time constraint (and lack of budget also lol), we had it for 3D2N full of joy camping.

While on our way to Legarda, we kept on searching for other possible way how to get to Jomalig.
We tried Raymond Bus in legarda but unfortunately, the next trip was 5am. Btw, we arrived at Legarda at exactly 2am. The manong guard told us if we want to wait for the van going to Real Port (it's just a 3mins walk from raymond bus terminal). Since we don't want to wait that long for the bus, we opted to wait for the UV going to Real Port.

2:25am, UV has arrived. And yes, there were many group of people waiting also for that UV. Since we are gangstah peeps (lol joke), we are the one who ride on the back seat of the van. Hahahaha!
2:40am, still waiting for 1 passenger for us to be completed so that we can leave but it seems so hard for us to find that one. Another 2 UV's arrived. The 4 groups na siningitan namin nauna na samin makaalis! Kami, still waiting for that one person to complete us (simpleng hugot! char! Hahaha). So karma hit us hard. Very hard. Hahahaha! We leave legarda at 4am. </3. Btw, UV Fare going to real port is Php 220.

Moving forward..
We arrived at real port at 8:30am. (Very pagoda at haggardo versoza na kami!)
We went to public market to buy foods, water, rice and other necessity for us to survive the biglaang Jomalig Challenge! Hahaha.

Going back to real port, we waited for almost 2 hours before the boat leave the port. Anway, fare is Php400 going to Jomalig Island. After 156498421335452 years... tinigil kami sa gitna ng karagatan. So may sasakyan pa pala kaming bangka going to Jomalig (Edi syempre another fare na naman. It cost 50/person since madami kami kasabay sa boat going to jomalig).
Nasa bayan na kami para mag log ng names. Btw, may bayad pala na 10 pesos/person ang pagsakay namin kanina sa bangka nung nasa real port kami. Hindi naman kami totally itinawid, ni hindi nga umandar yung balsa. naging tulay lang. Hahaha! Yung 400 may kasama na rin palang meal (but don't expect too much, better buy your own foods kasi kung rich kid ka, baka hindi mo kainin, but since we're not rich, kumain kami ng paksiw na goldfish Hahaha!)

And yes, after 30mins ulit na byaheng dagat, nakita ko na ang napakagandang isla ng Jomalig! <3

tranquility, peace of mind, love! so relaxing..

4pm, we pitched our tent. Rest for about an hour then arranged our things inside the tent.

(Kapoy v3h!) Naghanap kami ng mapaglulutuan ng ulam at mapag sasaingan. Pwede ka naman makisuyo sa mga locals dun to cook food for you. Ikaw na bahala magbigay kung magkano.

8pm, we ate our dinner at one of local's house and go back to the tent right after to set up a bonfire.

Of course hindi naman mawawala ang happy night. We met Rhian and Kaye! Hi girls! Just incase you read this, hope to see you again on our next travel!

Wala naman masyadong activities sa Jomalig other than island hopping. You just have to enjoy every part of the island, the kids there and the sunset. 

If you want to have a peace of mind, I would highly recommend this place. If you want to travel alone, no worries, you'll meet good travelers who can be your friend and companion during your stay there.

Legarda to Real Port  -  220

Tawid sa bangka  - 10 

Real port to Bayan  -  400

Bayan to Camp site of Jomalig - 50

Environmental fee  -  170

Jomalig to Real Port - 350

Total of   Php 1,232/pax

That does not include our food, water, alak, and others. Estimated budget 2k per person. You can now enjoy the virgin island of jomalig. <3

Jomalig Island Travel Tips:

• Electricity on the island is diesel powered and is available only from 6 PM to 2 AM.
• Always bring a first aid kit and make sure to bring your prescription medication (if any). There is no drug store in the island that sells prescription medication.
• Visit the island with a larger group so you can divide the cost of boat rentals and other expenses, like accommodation and inland transportation.
• Jomaligins (term for the locals of Jomalig) are very hospitable. Most of them are from Bicol, and some are descendants of the original Perez, Quezon settlers, whose own forefathers came all the way from Mauban, Quezon (a town on the mainland of Luzon).
